ABOUT US:
Hydro Technologies was founded in 2002 in an effort to further develop and commercialize several enabling technologies and concepts for underwater and ocean surface applications. Since then, Hydro Technologies has been extremely active in developing strong IP in areas such as through-hull communications, high bandwidth underwater communications, low frequency acoustic sensing, and data visualization. In addition to work in these areas, Hydro Technologies provides a full range of research, design, prototype, manufacture, and test and validation services to our industrial, military, and academic clients. Our specialties include communications, drag reduction research, control systems, power solutions, data acquisition, custom electronics design and manufacture, testing and validation, and new concept development.
Our customers span the spectrum from corporate and military, to film, television, and scientific research. On the military applications side, our technologies are being used on platforms such as submarines, Navy surface ships, and autonomous underwater vehicles. In support of the revolutionary scientific research being carried out by the National Geographic CritterCam team, Hydro Technologies developed the D3 Dive Profiling Software to allow for the visualization of complex, multi-modal data.
In 2005, Creative Control Solutions, a division of Hydro Technologies, was founded to capitalize on opportunities in controls and data acquisition markets that parallel the work done by Hydro Technologies, but for areas other than underwater or ocean surface applications. Our work in these areas includes control systems for the General Atomics Urban Maglev (the only operating maglev train in the US) and the development of custom controller hardware to support cutting edge HVAC systems based on energy storage through phase changes between water and ice.
Along with a genuine and proactive commitment to our customers and clients,
Hydro Technologies is committed to the preservation of our environment. The oceans of the world are a major contributor to the economic well-being of every nation as well as the crown jewel of our global environment.
Corey Jaskolski, president of Hydro Technologies, graduated from MIT with a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. While at MIT he also worked at unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) developer Bluefin Robotics, where he led the early development of the first pressure tolerant Lithium Polymer battery packs. In 2001, Jaskolski spent several weeks aboard the Russian science vessel, the Academic Keldysh, in
support of James Cameron’s documentary filming of the Titanic. During this expedition, Jaskolski got the opportunity to descend 12,500 feet to the wreck of the Titanic to support robotic operations. Jaskolski is featured in the film “Ghosts of the Abyss”, a Walt Disney picture that covers this expedition.
